VTC (voiture de transport avec chauffeur) is France’s licensed private-hire vehicle category. VTC operators must pre-book every ride. No street hails, no rank work. Every booking must have a documented record. RideCab provides exactly this: a pre-booking form on your WordPress site, fare quoted upfront, payment processed online, booking record created automatically, and a PDF invoice sent to the customer. Built for the way VTC legally operates.

This page covers RideCab’s fit for VTC operations: pre-booking compliance, multilingual support (French included), pricing models for VTC service types, and how the system handles the documentation requirements of the VTC market.

Pre-booking and compliance

VTC regulations in France (and similar frameworks in other European markets) require that every ride originates from a documented pre-booking. It form on your WordPress site creates that documentation automatically. Each WooCommerce order stores the customer’s details, the pickup and dropoff addresses, it time, the vehicle, and the fare. All with timestamps.

The booking record is the operator’s compliance documentation. Unlike a paper logbook or a phone-call record, WooCommerce order data is searchable, exportable, and can be produced for regulatory review at any time. The full reservation system is explained in the online taxi reservation system on WordPress guide.

Multilingual support — French included

RideCab ships with French translations bundled. Arabic, German, and Spanish are also included. For VTC operators in France, the booking form, confirmation emails, admin panel, and PDF invoices are all available in French without installing any additional plugins.

For operators serving multilingual markets. A Paris VTC serving both French and English-speaking travellers, or a Brussels operator serving French and Dutch speakers, RideCab is compatible with WPML and Polylang. The booking form switches language based on the site’s active language. Vehicle names, form labels, and email templates are all translatable through the standard multilingual plugin interface.

VTC pricing models

VTC operations typically use one of three pricing structures, and RideCab supports all of them:

  • Flat-rate zone pricing. The most common VTC model for airport runs and city-to-city transfers. Draw geofence zones, assign fixed fares. Customer sees the price upfront, no meter. The taxi fare calculator handles this natively.
  • Per-kilometre pricing. For general VTC service where the route isn’t always predictable. Base fare plus per-km rate. Optional per-minute charge for driving time.
  • Hourly packages. For chauffeur-style VTC service by the hour. Customer selects a time package (3 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours). Tiered hourly pricing in RideCab handles this without custom development.

Each vehicle in your catalogue uses its own pricing model. A standard saloon on per-km pricing, a premium saloon on flat-rate airport zones, and an executive minivan on hourly packages, all managed from one RideCab dashboard.

Corporate VTC accounts

Corporate accounts are a significant revenue source for VTC operators. Businesses need reliable pre-booked transport for employees, client entertainment, and airport runs. They also need VAT invoices, consolidated billing, and sometimes the ability for employees to book directly through the company account.

RideCab handles corporate accounts through WooCommerce customer profiles. A company creates an account on your site, their employees log in and book, and all bookings are linked to the company profile. Consolidated reporting comes through WooCommerce’s order management. The WooCommerce REST API allows further integration with corporate expense management systems.

Invoicing and VAT

French VTC operators are required to issue proper invoices for each ride. RideCab generates PDF invoices automatically on booking completion. The invoice includes your SIRET number, your TVA number, the customer’s details, the ride details, the fare breakdown, and the VAT amount, all configured once in the plugin settings.

Four invoice templates are included (Classic, Modern, Minimal, Corporate). Your logo appears on all invoices. Invoices are sent automatically to the customer’s email and stored on the WooCommerce order for later retrieval.
